Sunburst Zinnia came into our rescue program on July 26, 2023. Sunburst Zinnia came into our rescue program from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office along with 28 other horses, 23 cows, and 19 sheep and goats, as a cruelty case. Sadly, 2 of the cows had to be euthanized the day of the seizure. The animals were living in deplorable conditions, not enough land or food to accommodate 71 total animals. On January 25, 2024, in the district court of Lincoln County and the State of Oklahoma having filed its motion regarding the animals, court has awarded the ownership to Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue. Although we do know some of the horse's identities, all horses will be adopted out as grade horses, without registration papers, as the former owner has not released those. Sunburst Zinnia is a Beautiful, Palomino, Quarter Horse, Mare. Sunburst Zinnia was foaled on July 10, 2019, which makes her 4 years of age upon arrival into our program. Sunburst Zinnia is very thin with a body score of a 3. Bloodwork showed her to be anemic and her fecal shows she was infested with internal parasites. Sunburst Zinnia has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We will update as she progresses. Please consider making a donation towards Sunburst Zinnia's Rehabilition.

Update June 1, 2024 Sunburst Zinnia has gone into training with Dickinson Performance Horses. We hope she will be back in 30 to 60 days, depending on how she does in training. We look forward to updating her adoption status soon.

Update July 2024 Sunburst Zinnia has returned from 30 days of training. She is still very green and will require continuous riding and training to keep her going in the right direction. This sweet girl has a lot of potential and will make someone a wonderful horse. She stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. Sunburst Zinnia has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in giving this beautiful girl the home she deserves, please submit an adoption application or call/text/email to schedule an appointment to come see Sunburst Zinnia.

Sunburst Zinnia has been adopted to a wonderful family in Newalla, Oklahoma. Sunburst Zinnia is going to be extremely well loved and spoiled rotten in her forever, loving home. We are thrilled that she found a forever family that will shower her with love and attention that she deserves.
